Website Upgrades, Facelifts and Makeovers

Not getting the results you need from your website? It might be time for a complete site upgrade or 'website facelift'. One goal must be achieved by your business when a visitor lands on your website: Visual Credibility. People often ask why they shouldn't use simple, inexpensive cookie cutter template systems that are available all over the web. Take a look below at a few of our website redesign projects. If you were building a house, would you buy your own tools, nails, lumber, power equipment and just start banging away? The answer is obvious. So why do that with your web presence when you can have a custom website that works for you? The first impression you make is always a lasting one, and certainly you've got competition in whatever it is you are doing or selling. So why not 'wow' your visitors when they arrive, with a quality, credible website that says 'we're good at what we do'.

Credibility + Visibility = PROFITABILITY
This is truly the only formula that works when it comes to a quality website.

We are continually at work on new website designs as well as complete website redesign services for companies large and small in all industries. The samples below are a select few site improvements we have designed. Your web design does not have to look unappealing or unprofessional, and it certainly doesn't have to stay buried in the bottom ranks of Google searches. We maintain existing websites, provide complete website upgrade services and professional Search Engine Optimization (SEO) that all work in unison toward your company visibility and overall credibility.
We discuss this in further detail on our search engine optimization page. The formula is simple: If your site visitors not visually impressed with your website, they will leave in as little as three seconds. Shop for a new website based on price alone and this decision can be devastating to your business success. Impress your visitors the moment they arrive on your site, or lose the business forever. It really is that simple.

A local Kirkland, WA piano instructor had a website that did a decent job conveying the services offered. The problem was that the site was outdated, somewhat stagnant and really in need of a complete redesign. We stepped in to provide a beautiful website design with a custom CMS to make the owner completely self-sufficient in being able to modify all the site's content, including his blog without having to rely on us or any web development company for ongoing mainenance and updates.
A Florida based medical billing company had all the credentials and experience to take on even the most complex of billing challenges. The problem was that their website did little to enthuse or convince the prospective customer of their skills and experience. We gave the site a custom design and completely overhauled the original look and feel to help the client make an immediate statement of quality and excellence.
A Woodinville importer of handmade African jewelry and accessories quickly ran through their budget for marketing and advertising, but the old website did nothing to generate sales. We stepped in to establish a presence that is aesthetically pleasing and appropriate for the items they sell. Now the company's ads in local publications - which always attracted web visitors - will easily convert visits into sales. This website is in development.
A Seattle / Tacoma area oral surgery center has the experience, the reputation and the credentials to easily gain and retain new patients. However, this was difficult to tell by looking at their original website. This Federal Way, WA web design project was a very simple one that adds immediate visual appeal with a gentle/friendly theme (much needed in the world of dental surgery). Nothing here is over the top. Just a simple PHP, JavaScript, CSS site that better represents the business.
Phoenix Rising Acupuncture Center of Olympia and Tacoma, Washington is a reputable acupuncture and oriental medicine provider who was unfortunately not gaining much new business with their self-designed, website template. The new website design will provide the customer with an entirely new look and feel that better fits their business and its competencies.
Washington Legal Messengers of Seattle has been in business for nearly two decades, but their old website did little to convey the company's history, credibility and professionalism. This was a quick and simple website redesign project that involved a new look and feel that is powered by a custom CMS. Prospects are much more likely to become customers given the impact that is immediately felt by the new site design.
Choices, LLC of Seattle, Washington provides healthcare benefits discounts, prescription drug savings and international surgery discount programs. The company's original website design (left) was cluttered, confusing, misshapen and difficult to navigate. Our website redesign offers visitors much simpler navigation and increased visual appeal that is sure to keep people interested. We now have their SEO services underway.
Penser North America of Olympia, Washington has worked with both small and large employers and public agencies to better contain their risk management, workers compensation and human resource costs. We redesigned their website to make a strong impact on their visitors and better reflect their level of professionalism and experience.
A Seattle, WA Driving Range and Golf Instruction School turned to us for a complete new web design. This website is currently being developed, and the initial response to their new site design has been overwhelming.
A Northwest assisted living facility approached us with a serious need to increase web traffic and improve their existing website. So we got to work on the website redesign and search engine optimization for this senior care facility web development initiative. Within just two months, their traffic increased exponentially. At this point in time, nearly 80% of all their traffic is directly from the search engines and their website feedback has been tremendous.
A Sammamish, WA personal trainer and registered dietitian had a website design created with a free web building template program. We stepped in to provide a completely new look that is already bringing in new business and converting website visitors into new clients. While people were visiting this site prior to our redesign efforts, few, if any, were following up with contacts. That has all changed now!
A Tacoma / Seattle Flight Instruction service had a website in dire need of a better look. The original site was just okay, but just didn't give the company the feel or professionalism they wanted. We redesigned the site using more suitable color treatments, an animated Flash Banner on the home page, and developed the site using ASP, HTML, JavaScript and Flash. This is a great example of a simple, affordable, and effective website design.
Quantum Property Management Services of Lynwood, Washington came to us in search of a look, feel and flow that impacts their audience and legitimizes their wide array of property management offerings in the Seattle and Tacoma areas. This new property management website design is currently in development. You can see the immediate impact and generated by this custom website design we are developing for the client. A completesite redesign like this can literally change the face of any business.
Julie L. Sloan, LLC, consultants in stained glass, came to us recently for a complete overhaul and site redesign. The existing website was packed with information and useful content, but just did not convey the fabulous reputation and history of the company. After rebuilding the website, we developed a complete content management system (CMS) to allow the client to self-maintain and modify everything on the site form dynamic photo galleries to individual page content.

The new year is the perfect time to take a fresh look at your website. While you probably work with small parts of your website every day, resolving to dig in a little deeper and update your website more broadly will pay dividends for the year ahead!

The iMIS Web View site is deleted during upgrade. If you currently use the iMIS Web View site, you must first copy any custom site navigations and edit any shortcuts before upgrading: Note: The BlueWave theme is automatically replaced with the Everest theme. From the Staff site, go to RiSE Site Builder Manage websites. Windows 10 screen shown. Pre-release product shown, subject to change. Apps sold separately. Windows 10 Upgrade Offer valid for qualified Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 devices (including devices you already own) for one year after Windows 10 upgrade availability. The first thing you'll want to do is make sure everything on your site, both big and small, is still working properly. This means conducting a thorough audit of your site – going through each page if possible – and checking for issues such as: Plugins or themes that need to be updated. Missing and/or poor-quality images. Editing / Changing Site Content – With a new upgrade often comes the desire to revamp all the content.

There are many ways to do this. You may simply need to ensure that everything is up-to-date and functioning correctly, or you might want to make major alterations – like changing the primary keywords that your site targets.

With the above in mind, in this post we'll introduce seven key strategies to help you update your website for the new year. Let's begin!

1. Ensure that everything is still working and up to date

The first thing you'll want to do is make sure everything on your site, both big and small, is still working properly. This means conducting a thorough audit of your site – going through each page if possible – and checking for issues such as:

  • Plugins or themes that need to be updated.
  • Missing and/or poor-quality images.
  • Incorrect and/or outdated user information.
  • Broken links (you can address this using a plugin).
  • Broken features and/or plugins.
  • Formatting and/or style issues.
  • Missing and/or out-of-date content.

This may seem like a lot, but it's important that every page makes a strong impression. While you're going through your site, this is also a smart time to ensure that your content is properly organized. Finally, remember to create a backup before making changes!

2. Perform A/B testing

After ensuring that everything is up-to-date, you should determine whether your site is as effective as it could be. A/B testing is one of the best ways to do this. In simple terms, the technique involves creating two versions of something and testing them against one another.

For example, let's say you want people visiting your home page to sign up to an email list. You could create two versions of that page – each with a different type of call to action (such as a button or popup). Then you could have visitors randomly sent to one page or the other and track which gets the most clicks.

For WordPress users, there are plenty of tools that can help with this process. We'd recommend starting with Nelio A/B Testing, a quality plugin that provides an entire suite of testing options.

3. Solicit feedback from your target audience

Along with performing your own testing, you'll want to find out what your existing audience thinks of your site. When you've spent a lot of time working behind the scenes, you can forget what it feels like on the other side. Therefore, it's a good idea to solicit direct feedback from your regular visitors to help you update your website.

Find out what your audience likes and dislikes, as well as what features or content they value. You'll also want to determine what problems they come to your site to solve. To encourage this feedback, it's best to ask for it directly. You can do this via comment threads or forums, an email campaign, or even a dedicated survey or poll.

4. Conduct research on your competition

Keeping tabs on your competition with tools like Ahrefs is a smart way to stay ahead.

It's easy to spend so much effort on your own site that you lose track of what your competitors are doing. The new year is a smart time to make sure you're still competitive in your field or niche and see what similar sites have been up to.

Fortunately, there are dedicated tools that can help you conduct this research. Most are focused on helping you compare your site to others via specific metrics.

Site Upgrade

For example, SimilarWeb displays traffic information for any site and BuzzSumo lets you see which pieces of your competitors' content were the most successful. Alternatively, check out Ahrefs, which provides details on exactly what you need to do to outrank similar companies.

You can then put the insights you get from your competitor research into action on your own website.

5. Check your own analytics

Beyond checking up on your competitors, it also pays to consider data that's a little closer to home.

If you're already tracking your site with analytics, dig into them to figure out things like:

  • Which pages on your site are the most popular
  • Whether any of your pages have abnormally high bounce rates
  • Which pages generate the most engagement

And if you're not already tracking analytics for your site, consider making the new year the time when you add Google Analytics to WordPress!

6. Update your keywords

Google Keyword Planner is a valuable tool for keyword research.

Keywords are a vital part of any website's strategy. The right ones help you rank higher in search engines, which means your site will be more visible.

Even if you conducted plenty of keyword research when you first built your site, search volumes can always change. This means it's possible that the keywords you're using are no longer bringing in your target audience effectively.

To fix this, you should devote time in the new year to checking your site's main keywords. Google Keyword Planner is a useful tool for this task. Or, you can turn to a third-party tool called KWFinder that lets you perform a limited number of searches each day for free.

If you find that any keywords have lost popularity or are underperforming, you can alter existing content to target stronger alternatives.

7. Create new (or update existing) content

Finally, a highly beneficial way to update your website is to create brand new content. Even if your site is fairly static, it's smart to add engaging, high-quality content whenever possible. This can provide a boost to your search rankings and keep readers coming back for more.

Here are a few suggestions for how to use content for maximum effect:

  • Start a blog (if you don't already have one).
  • Create videos or infographics to supplement textual content.
  • Rewrite key sections of your site, such as your Contact and About pages.
