A non-profit organization formed to honor the sailors who manned the eighty-five Edsall Class DEs, DERs, and WDEs from World War 2, through the Korean Conflict, the DEW line, and Vietnam service.
We support the historic restoration of the USS Stewart DE-238 in Galveston TX which is central to our association. Membership is open to all who support our goals.
Unit war diaries from the Western Front, Mesopotamia and Gallipoli, 1914–1922. Search by unit name and number for the war diaries of British Army units that served on the Western Front and in Mesopotamia on our website (£) and for units that served in the Gallipoli Campaign at the Dardanelles on Ancestry.co.uk (£). For those who served on board submarines deep inside enemy lines in the Pacific War, or against the massive convoys of the Atlantic War, or under the desolate ice caps in the Cold War, survival was no game.
The Association shall meet on or about each Veterans Day ceremony at Sea Wolf Park, Galveston, TX for the annual reunion at which time Individual ship groups, individual sailors, and/or relatives and friends are encouraged to attend. Worldview meaning.
